Star Trek- Action Plus Emotion

All the excitement and emotions of your favourite television series can be relived through Star Trek movie (2009), which has Officer George Kirk of the USS Kelvin trying to save the lives of his crew members when his ship is suddenly being attacked by Nero. He is on the lookout for Ambassador Spock, who is a child on Vulcan at that time, abandoned by his neighbors for his half-human nature. Not caring for himself, Kirk lays down his life to rescue others. Just around the time when Kirk dies, his son is born, who is named 'Jim'.Star Trek fans rejoice.

James T. Kirk (Jim) as a young adult harbours a wish to be like his father and his determination and dedication lead him to be a part of Starfleet. Soon, Vulcan comes under attack by Nero and his crew, threatening to cause the planet to disappear into a black hole. Spock takes it upon himself to rescue several Vulcan leaders including his Vulcan father, Sarek and his human mother.

Though Spock tries hard, he is not able to save his mother. Audiences will be deeply moved by the pain that Spock goes through for letting go of his mother. The movie shifts back to Kirk, who is shown getting prepared for a future task of saving the world.

Kirk and Spork, who both have lost a parent, undergo the same turmoil, difficulties and feelings of loneliness. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Eric Bana have given superb performances and justified their characters to the hilt.

The promotional partners for the film include Nokia, Burger King and Intel Corporation. The film's first normal US screenings were on May 7, 2009, grossing $4 million on its opening day. It beat Star Trek: First Contact for the largest US opening for a Star Trek film.

People can lay their hands on DVD and BLU-RAY specials of the film, which will be released on November 17 in North America, November 16 in the UK and October 29 in Australia. Sweden has to wait for its turn till the 4th of November.

The film's huge success and profit are widely known and talked about. The cast members are already in talks for the sequel, the work for which will soon kick start. - 29872
